WHAT DOES PEDAL IT FORWARD PROVIDE?
- Bikes. Our volunteer mechanics restore gently used bicycles. These are distributed by our Pedal Partners who provide the gender, height, and age of the recipient via a request form. (We also ask recipients to indicate a bicycle type as shown on the form, which we try to accommodate when possible.)
- Helmets. We provide new helmets with every bicycle, so please encourage recipients to use a helmet.
HOW DO I DONATE A BIKE?
The best way to donate a bike is to drop it off at one of our shops during operating hours, which are Wednesdays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to Noon and Monday evenings from 5:30-8:30 p.m. you can also leave a bike on the rack outside a shop, using the provided cable lock to secure it. If this doesn’t work, you can always drop it off at any local bike shop and tell them it’s for Pedal it Forward.
DO YOU ACCEPT ALL BIKES?
We will gladly accept any new or used bike. We can fix bikes with flat tires, slightly bent rims, rusted brake cables, broken shifters, missing parts, etc. However, if a bike has been left outside for a very long time and is just a “rusted heap of metal,” we won’t be able to work with it and prefer that it not be dropped off with us.
DO YOU ACCEPT DONATED BIKE PARTS?
Yes! We especially like parts that are still useable to help us get good bikes up and running again. We also accept bike accessories like shoes, bags, racks, clothing, etc.
WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?
We have two shop locations. Our Bentonville location is at 3902 NW Wishing Springs Drive, and our Rogers location is at 315 W Olive Street – just north of the Activity Center in the same parking lot.
DO I HAVE TO KNOW HOW TO FIX A BIKE?
Even if you don't know how to fix a bike we can still use your help! There are multiple jobs you can do at our shop. We sometimes need help sorting bike parts or loading and delivering bikes to our Pedal Partners. If you want to volunteer, we will find a place for you.
DO YOU OFFER PAID POSITIONS TO FIX BIKES?
All of our mechanics are volunteers. Volunteers do not receive pay or benefits, other than the satisfaction of knowing you are helping people in need. We keep our shops as low-stress environments where volunteers can enjoy coming to fix bikes at their own pace. We don’t have quotas or make any kind of production demands of our volunteers. We're just glad to have you!
WHAT ARE YOUR FINANCIAL NEEDS?
While our bikes are donated, we still must buy parts, tools, shop space and helmets. We donate helmets with each bike, and encourage all participants to use them. Your donation (of any size) is greatly appreciated and helps us pay for all of these items.
WHAT IS THE COST TO PARTICIPATE?
We have a “Pay What You Can” policy for individuals outside of our Pedal Partner program with $25 as a recommended donation. We are exploring ways to work with our Pedal Partners to cover our costs, including grant-funding collaboration.
Meanwhile, we encourage Partners to consider asking recipients for a donation IF appropriate for their program and clientele. We appreciate any and all gifts.

IS THERE AN AGE REQUIREMENT TO VOLUNTEER?
Generally, our shops are not the best place for young children. Teenagers who are accompanied by an adult are welcome to join us in volunteering at the shops. Volunteers are required to complete a Release Form. Anyone under age must have an authorized adult sign their Release Form.
AS A PEDAL PARTNER, HOW DO WE RECEIVE THE BIKES?
Delivery is based on the quantity of bikes. Two Men and a Truck may be able to provide delivery to your location. Otherwise, we work with you and your staff, recipients, and volunteers as well as our own to find a way to arrange delivery.
